One last time to safari & fly by Mt. Kilimanjaro for some, but for us it was a walking tour of the old city area with a local guy named Kenedy. We had a great time weaving through the narrow back streets and plazas of the christian and muslum areas. The Arab influenced intricately carved doors and ornate balconies of our previous ports continued here, although most were in poor condition for lack of means to restore. This was also our first Hindu temple visit, which was inspirational. The day ended with a visit to a oceanside resort, complete with hundred plus yard beach at low tide and camels.

Zanzibar, Tanzania
Exoctic Zanzibar! Intricately carved entry doors, narrow winding streets, beautiful beaches and resorts, lively street scenes, churches and mosques, and the birth place of Freddy Mercury. Walking Stone Town in Zanzibar was a great day.
Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
Dar Es Salaam was another city tour adventure! We happened upon Jon, a taxi driver for one of the well known hotels, and he gave us a locals tour of his city. He guided us through many areas seen and unseen by tourists, such as the basement wholesale area of the local market for fruits, vegetables, and dried fish. The spice market and the auction area for the fish market A learning experience for sure!
