Crowded city, bustling market, and Guama river. Now I am outside of the backyard and into the world. The day begins with a boat ride down the Guama river to an area of the jungle for short and not very thrilling hike through what was actually someone's backyard in the jungle, a small village enclave. Some good moments; a taste of the Amazon jungle and life style for much of Brazil. Also a surprise in finding that the boat following our tour boat was actually police.... apparently local pirates are for real....
