Sao Tome

I think this was the poorest of the ports so far. This was evident in the street and market life. The overcast day was welcome as we were once again near the equator and it was hot and humid. One thing that was very apparent to me, the smiles that I had seen in the east African cities of Lome' and Cotonou, were missing here. There was color every where again and beautiful colonial buildings of the past. The main cathedral was a masterpiece of Portuguese blue & white tile lining the walls under the stations and over the alter.
